Commercial Mechanical Chiller Replacement Reading Berkshire

Project: Commercial Mechanical Chiller Replacement

Reading

Berkshire

Works Carried Out: Year 2016

Contract Value: 205K

Requirement:

Royale’s scope of works, to size, design, supply and deliver a new CHW chiller on the enhanced capital allowance scheme to serve sites existing CHW fan coils.

Challenged by:

As part of our project we decommissioned the old chiller system that had an EER rating of only 2, and was beyond economical repair, we selected a new Daikin chiller with a EER rating of 3.9, sized at 500kW cooling duty, providing major improved efficiencies and far better running costs for our client.  However we were challenged by the old valve services, the commissioning valves and strainers were in poor condition, so we proposed a solution to our client to install a new low loss header replacing all these items for new.

What we did:

We designed a new CHW flow and return low loss header with all the correct new valves, trace heating and insulation in place, providing peace of mind for the life cycle of the plant, ensuring all steel CHW pipe work was installed correctly, leak checked and commissioned to manufactures standards.  We also provided fault communication to sites already existing BACnet BMS system.

What Client Said:

Very impressed with how Royale not only did they provide us with a ECA approved chiller which provided us with capital cost tax assistance as a company, though the new low loss header installed meant the plant was fully functional with no risk factor of mechanical failure over the next 15+ years.  Great service from all involved.
