Transforming a basement with AC and fresh air ventilation!

Posted: Jun 08, 2021

Earlier last year, we were delighted to hear from an existing client and a new project he had in the pipeline. The project was to transform an underground basement into a kickboxing gym in St Johns Wood high street, London.

We were asked to install ducted air conditioning throughout the basement with fresh air ventilation. We also supplied and installed the extract system for the toilet and showers. Simon Sheppard, Managing Director for Royale, said

Royale Air Conditioning and Refrigeration were delighted to get a call from City Harvest London, earlier this year, regarding on opportunity to quote for their new fridge equipment in their new depot.

Working with Royale: How we serve and support catering and food retail businesses

Posted: Jan 28, 2020

We’ve been fortunate to work with quite the range of companies since Royale’s creation over 30 years ago! Today we wanted to take a little time to talk about the work and value we offer to companies that need reliable refrigeration support. As you might expect in the UK, this is a serious requirement that underpins the success of many of the brands and franchises we know and love as consumers.

Businesses of all kinds require heating and cooling, and sometimes we’re privileged to provide solutions for some truly unique companies and places.

Recently, Royale was brought on board to provide its expertise to quite a special company. The Bunker, part of Cyberfort Group, provides corporate data storage from its military-grade secure data centres in Berkshire and Kent. But what does ultra-secure data storage have to do with cooling solutions, you say?

That’s where we come in.

Get to know Gary: A little bit of background on Royale’s new Commercial Director

At Royale, we’re of the opinion that you should always recognise great work. With that in mind, we’re running the risk of inflating the ego of one of our key team members, Gary Millard!

It’s been more than a few years since Gary first started working with our family, and he’s risen to a place of enormous value for the company and its direction. Here’s the scoop on how that happened.

Buying done better: Three points on temperature control in a retail environment

Posted: Aug 02, 2019

Today we’re looking at the retail sector. It’s far from a secret that HVAC systems are important in maximising sales and customer satisfaction, but how, and why? It’s big business, after all; estimates on the commercial refrigeration equipment market alone show it to be worth nearly fifty billion Dollars by 2025.

So, let’s see what the fuss is all about. Specifically, how does air-conditioning affect customer behaviour, and how practical is it as an investment from a business owner’s perspective?

Point one: Buyer behaviour

Recycling with Royale: What we do to minimise the environmental impact of our work

Carbon footprints are on the minds of many business owners, and the proof is certainly in the pudding as far as HVAC companies and our work is concerned. With that in mind, we’re taking a moment to go over the ways in which Royale recycles and manages its waste during (after after) jobs and contracts.

Air in there: How HVAC systems make office staff happier and more productive

Posted: Jul 01, 2019

Air quality: it matters. We spend around 90% of our time on average indoors, and the degree of comfort we enjoy in our workplaces is a serious deal indeed – people tire when hot, and studies show as much as a 4% drop on productivity per degree of increased temperature above average indoors. Shoppers, too, are happier when premises are cooled, spending more time purchasing and browsing.

Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme for Business Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Systems

Ask any business or organisation: cash flow matters! Whether you’re retail or corporate, small or large, it’s always on the mind of decision-makers and owners.

Investing is, however, worthy; a study on the value of improving air quality in offices found the annual increase in productivity to be worth at least ten times as much as the annual increase in energy and maintenance costs.

Born in a barn: The Royale team refits a stunning listed building for Quicklight

Not all air conditioning installations are equal!

Once in a while, something special crops up. Where modern buildings are consistent and built to planning specifications, older buildings, and listed buildings in particular, vary about as much as you’d expect – a lot.

What to do, then, when another great Newbury business needs a refit? You call Royale, of course! We thought this job was so unique and interesting that it’d be a shame not to write about it.
